Hi Sourav,

Ubuntu itself is a OS. You could download Ubuntu desktop edition CD from http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop . It is free. It includes almost all the software you need on a daily basis.

Write a CD from the downloaded ISO image file. Use the CD to boot your computer. It will run entirely from the CD. You have an option to install to your computer also. Do not do it until you feel it is time.

If you want to experience and customize how it looks like and performs, you could do it by running it inside some emulators. You could use VirtualBox from http://www.virtualbox.org/. Once you downloaded and installed virtual box, make a virtual machine inside it. Then start the virtual machine using the Ubuntu CD/ISO Image. This time, select install option from the CD, it will install the Ubuntu OS permanently to your virtual machine.

It will not do any harm to your computer when trying these. If you have more queries, let me know.

Hi Rajesh,

I have never used Ubuntu and probably don't have much idea about it's uses. Can this be used in Non-Linux OS?

Regards.
