Lakshmi aka Minnu ( my niece ) celebrated her 4th Happy birthday yesterday on 2nd October 2006. Here is some pics of the birthday girl.
It was a great day yesterday, not only because it was minnu’s birthday. It was also the birthday of Mahatma Gandhiji. And the same day happened to be the Vijaya Dasami ( Dassera ).
I think it would be too much for me to preach about Gandhiji. He does not need my certificate!. Nowadays, it is “Gandhigiri” in the news as the young generation is starting to recognize the value of truthfulness and selflessness. Even though it required a movie (Lege Raho…Munnabhai) to send them the message. If you do not have time enough to read the Gandhian Philosophy, I would recommend spending a few moments for watching this movie. 🙂
Dassera is a festival which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. I wish everyone a very happy Dassera !. May the happiness of success be with us all.
Three reasons to be happy ! 😀
By the way.. More photos are uploaded to Flickr !
I started using Flickr. I was trying to find a good gallery solution for storing, organising and displaying my photo collection. I tried many softwares like 4Images, Gallery2 etc…..and after seeing flickr, I think I found the best possible solution….

I am plannig to upload my entire collection in a matter of days… 🙂
I took two days off my work and went to my brother’s Home in Thane. He lives with his family. We enjoyed onam with a good meal and an outing in the evening.
I had lots of fun with the children, Pachu ( Anand ) my nephew and Minnu ( Lakshmi ) niece. I told them the story of King Mahabali ( Maveli Rajavu ). I made up some part of the story so that it looked like King Mahabali is visiting the children every year and will bring them gifts if they were good boys/girls the entire year. Mahabali looked more like a “Santa” to them.
And the next day when I was about to leave, Minnu asked, ” Paaappaaa ( Uncle ), why Maveli Rajavu didn’t come to our home?!! ” . I looked at her eyes and knew that she was wondering if she was a bad girl. I told “Mahabali was too busy.. he called me in the night and told that he will be definitely coming to our home the next year with even more gifts”. Seems like we malayalees have a Santa Clause from now on!
I have some photos which I am going to upload to the gallery section.
I am back. Two very unfortunate events got me back to blogging. Events which made me cry..yell..shout.. whatever..
First thing is that my close friend Biju S Balan put an end to his life. He was someone very close to my heart. We were in close loop from college days. I do not know why he took such a decision to end his life. He was truly one of a kind and I am sure gonna miss him a lot. I am out words…
Second, the bomb blasts in Mumbai Trains… Time after time, evil minds are trying to kill the spirit of people by doing such brutal attacks. Kashmir, Delhi, Mumbai….many places.. many people… were killed or injured. They are trying to make us afraid. They are trying to make us believe that we are insecure in this country. It is in their cruel minds that to shake the roots of this country, they must make the poor majority of the people feel afraid to work….to speak…. to commute…They always attack crowds. They target women and children whenever possible. They always stabs us from the back like cowards. But I would like to tell them something…. Something which I want to shout to their ugly faces…..
We are not afraid. You are actually making us more stronger in our fight against you. You are making us more vigilant against your people. Our weapon is called the “Spirit of Life”. It enables us to go ahead no matter what happens. It gives us courage to fight your evil minds. Eventually, We are going to win. It takes more than bombs and bullets to destroy INDIA.
